If you had seen Virginia Garrido Lane for the first time and did not know her status in Manila society, you would surely dismiss her as one of those glamorous ladies of leisure who indulge themselves in all the imaginable beauty treatments to look forever youthful & wrinkle free! This impression is often expected from people who do not know her because she has that aura of glamor and wealth. She is always well put together from the top of her well-coifed head down to her expensive Loubotins. But truth to tell, the lady is not a lady of leisure and is in fact, a workaholic. She has her hands full with her work at Lane Moving, running their several homes in different continents, her philanthropic advocacies and being a loving wife to husband Gerry. Not to mention being a mother to 3 wonderful children. A Happy Married Life Gerard Michael Lane and Virginia Garrido Lane have been married for 42 years and 8 months to be exact. Theirs is a marriage that never hit the rocks. Always steadfast, they focused on raising their three beautiful children and building their business empire. They first met in 1974 during the Philippine Marketing Association Week at the Plaza Hotel where Virgie was working for a Swedish marketing firm. The dapper businessman was immediately smitten and asked her out to dinner. She agreed but only if she could bring a chaperone.
