SAMANTHA GOH SUGAR QUEEN The 16th annual TKS Mrs International 2023 beauty pageant was held in Singapore and Malaysia from the 20 – 26th February 2023. After a 3-year hiatus due to Covid, beauty delegates from around the world arrived safely in the world’s best airport: Changi, Singapore. The TKS Mrs International beauty pageant is about women who are talented, kind, and successful. Women who are 21 years and above fall into the Ms. and Mrs category while women over 45 years are in the Elite Mrs category. An extra special category, “Best Social Media Award”, was introduced this year. The Top 5 delegates were Mrs Africa, Mrs Malaysia, Mrs Mexico, Mrs Thailand and Elite Mrs Phillipines. They had been posting the process of their pageant journey throughout 2022. Their reward was a limousine ride around the major landmarks of Singapore including Little India, Chinatown, and the famous Marina Bay Sands. Delegates from Africa, Borneo, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, and USA stayed in the Chancellor Hotel on Orchard Road. They visited Universal Studios Singapore and enjoyed a yacht cruise from Sentosa Island of Singapore. On Day 4 of the pageant, delegates travelled to the neighboring country of Malaysia and stayed in the Thistle Hotel, Johor Bahru. A floral themed High Tea party at Thistle Hotel was organized for the delegates to introduce and share stories of their national flowers. Each delegate prepared her own floral headdress, and Elite Mrs USA won the “Best Floral Headdress” while Malaysia, Japan, and USA won the “Top 3 Floral Tea Look”. Day 5 and 6 were the preliminary judging rounds where Elite Mrs Phillipines won “Best Interview” and “Best National Costume”. Mrs Mexico claimed the “Best Model” award.
