Singapore Embassy in Manila Commemorates 60 Years of Independence, Celebrates Enduring Partnership with the Philippines

By Joy FONG METRO SCENE Shangri-La The Fort came alive recently as the Singapore Embassy in Manila marked Singapore’s 60th Independence Day with an elegant garden-inspired reception. Adorned with Singapore’s Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid and the Philippines’ Sampaguita, the ballroom set the tone for an evening of friendship and celebration. Over 1,000 guests, including senior officials from government, business leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society, academia, and media, attended the celebration, underscoring the strength of bilateral ties. In her remarks, Singapore’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Constance See, emphasized the resilience and forward-looking nature of Singapore-Philippines relations. She highlighted the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, education, and innovation.
