Marcelito, known by friends as “Mars” or “Lito”, was basically an orphan since the age of two. Because his father was incarcerated and his mother had separated with her first child, Lito lived in the jail with his father. However, when the jail could no longer feed little Lito, a policeman took him in. When Lito was seven years old he realized that he was not the real son of the policeman so he left. Consequently, Lito lived on the street and under a bridge for shelter. Lito did what he could to survive. He was resourceful and resorted to odd jobs and finally, cleaning chicken cages. Working with the chickens, he began to sing to them and this is where his unique ability to sing developed.

Lastly, it is important to mention that Marcelito is a deeply religious man and gives gratitude to his creator by attending services with his family. In addition, Marcelito gives back to the community and especially to those who are incarcerated in jail. On his recent birthday this male celebrity, prepped and packed food and gifts for 503 inmates at the Gumaca District Jail. n
