When Was the Last Time YOU EXPERIENCE PEACE?

Friday June 1, 2018

Romans 14:17-19 says..
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Let us therefore make everyeffort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Nonetheless, in this world full of busyness and distractions, how does someone really acquire peace?

One of the lessons I have got to learn as I mature is to prioritize peace above everything. To possess a clear mind, keep a positive outlook in life, be complacent, embrace whatever I have, wherever I am and most importantly, to trust God, that everything will be well eventually.

True enough, it’s not easy to not worry, fear or stress. But I figured, it can be countered and we can be really intentional about it.

John 14:27 mentioned, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”God wants us to experience peace once and for all. What we just have to remember is that, peaceful moments are not rare, but we have to do it on purpose.

There are a few things that you can do to enjoy peace in your life

1 Be in the company of those you love and stay away from negative people. You don’t want their thoughts and words to sink into your subconscious mind and affect your moods and state of mind. On the other hand, you have to prioritize giving your time to people who add into your life and make you happy.

2 Take a time off. Find time to relax. Perhaps, there are some people who happen to express relaxation as being absorbed in reading a book, lying on the sand at the beach or even just turning the TV off. No matter how busy life may get, it’s important to unwind once in a while.

3 Accept what cannot be changed. Believe that all will be well, don’t hold grudges, learn to forgive and forget and don’t nurture ill feelings. This saves a lot of time, energy and worries.

4 Don’t take everything too personally. Emotional detachment at times can be so helpful. This would bring your life more peace, harmony and common sense.

5 Avoid being jealous of others. Jealousy means you have low selfesteem and therefore consider yourself as inferior to others. Jealousy and low self-esteem often lead to lack of peace of mind. Realizing that we need to pause for a while, breath and learn to feel is very important. Considering all of these will take away our minds from its usual thoughts and worries thus, replacing them with an experience of inner peace.
