Photos by Craig Allyn Photography Additional photos by Kevin Geary and Hugh Williams On November 9th, 2024 we gathered at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles to honor Grammy Award-winning vocalist Patti Austin and Grammy Award-winning Big Phat Band leader Gordon Goodwin. The evening included a riveting performance by 2024 Young Artist Grant Recipient Maya Proulx, and acknowledgement of this year’s twenty phenomenal Young Artists and Emerging Artists grant recipients. We presented four (4) Jazz Excellence Awards to honorees Linda Morgan Sam, Dwight Trible, Dave Moscoe and Michael Saucier, who have each dedicated their lives to the enrichment of our communities. JEXA Awards extends its deepest gratitude to every donor who has supported our mission to preserve the legacy of jazz, and support the next generation of young jazz musicians and singers. A big thank you to our Gala Planning Committee, and to our Entertainment Director Lynn Colbert-Jones for crafting an exceptional show.
