If It’s Worth Doing It’s Worth Overdoing: The Only Cure For The Blues Is Bluewater

By: Sonia Dionela Bermejo Bluewater Maribago…what an unforgettable experience; where I was privy to luxury and given special treatment befitting of a VIP member. After a Palawan island-hopping excursion, we sought to bask in the beauty that is the first class experience of this resort in Cebu. Upon our arrival at the Mactan Airport, we were warmly received by the welcome staff and whisked away via private van to Bluewater Maribago. The resort was suitably located only 15-20 minutes away from the airport, making for a quick and comfortable ride. The reception area had a native flavor filled with hospitable faces who welcomed us to their facilities. We checked into our stay of 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel’s amenities were absolutely A-1; spacious room, speedy Wi-Fi internet connection, readily available USB ports – all conveniently peppered throughout the room. The room itself was impeccably tidy, with fresh linens being brought daily. We quickly dropped our belongings and made a beeline for the beach. The private white sand beachfront was adorned with a giant chessboard and hammocks, which we made swift use of; relishing as our suntanned skin was lapped by the wind, and we napped. Feeling refreshed from this siesta, we felt reinvigorated & inspired to taste from fresh seafood and refresh with a choice of happy hour cocktails. We opted for oysters, paired with a hot spicy sauce and “kalamansi”. As crazy a concept as it sounds, their buffet was quite honestly state of the art. The food was nothing short of superb; the wide variety of ingredients was top of the line, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All of which was complimentary, might I add!
