The vision of the LA First Filipino Church is to see people’s lives saved, changed and transformed by the power of God’s Word preached regularly, clearly and powerfully. The church is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene organized on October 8, 1908 in Pilot Point, Texas and with headquarters in Kansas City.

The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination in the Wesleyan-Armenian theological tradition that believes in the second work of grace or entire sanctification. The Nazarenes believe that God calls Christians to a life of holy living that is marked by an act of God, cleansing the heart from original sin and filling the individual with the love of God.

There are four congregations that worship at the facility located at 3rd St and Vermont. In Spanish, with Pastor Juan Fajardo, Korean with Pastor Sung Dae Kim, in English with Pastor Josue Tiguila Sr.and the Filipino congregation which is pastored by Manny Salva Cruz.

The Filipino congregation started their first worship service in September, 1984 with Pastor Enrique Cainglet. After many years of serving the Lord in that church, he retired in 2004 and transferred the leadership to Pastora Marideth Bermeo. In 2006, Pastor Manny Salva Cruz took over the leadership of the congregation after Pastor Bermeo resigned and relocated to the Philippines in 2006.

Everyone is invited to come and join the worship every Sunday at 9:45 AM. With it one can learn from the weekly Biblical exposition and practical application of God’s Word. Testimonies and group discussions are the focal points of Sunday School at 11:30 AM while the Midweek Prayer meeting and in depth Discipleship Class is held every Wednesday, at 7:00 PM. It is an experience of a truly refreshing time with God’s Word. All these activities are held in room 102 of the church. These are also free and all are invited to bring friends along.
