By Martina Yap Lead with heart and with vision. Success is not just about personal achievements—it’s about how much you uplift others along the way. arbie Arcache’s leadership story didn’t begin in boardrooms—it began in barangays, community centers, and conversations grounded in courage and compassion. Raised in a community where inequality and resilience coexisted, she found purpose early on: to spark change through grassroots advocacy and to elevate voices that had long been overlooked, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. Without privilege or platform, Barbie began by organizing local initiatives and building small businesses that proved advocacy and entrepreneurship could coexist—and thrive. A defining moment in her journey was witnessing how authentic leadership could uplift entire communities. That experience shaped her belief that leadership must be rooted in service, empowerment, and legacy. Barbie’s path hasn’t been easy. She’s faced traditional expectations, pushed boundaries in spaces resistant to change, and remained steadfast through every challenge. Her style of leadership—authentic, empathetic, and vision-driven—has consistently centered on collaboration and inclusion. As she puts it, “True leadership is about service, not position.” Today, Barbie serves as Board Advisor for Social Engagement for the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP), where she bridges corporate leadership with community advocacy. She’s also deeply involved with LGBT Pilipinas in Taguig City, working at the grassroots level to foster visibility, empowerment, and inclusivity for marginalized sectors. For her, this work is not only vital—it’s personal. It’s about helping others believe that their dreams are valid and achievable. Barbie stays ahead by embracing innovation, learning continuously, and listening—especially to those who challenge the norm. Her goals are clear: to scale her impact, mentor emerging leaders, and amplify inclusion efforts on both national and global stages.
