Parents did not allow
their daughters to
go on dates without
chaperones during
those days. A chaperone
on a first date was
unheard of in Dublin,
Ireland, Gerry’s home
country, but he found
this Filipino custom
amusing and agreed for
Virgie to bring along a
Virgie Lane with husband chaperone. Not that he
Gerry and sons Jason and Gerard had any choice.
They fell in love and
as the cliche goes, the
children and building their business empire. They rest is history. The union first produced a daughter,
first met in 1974 during the Philippine Marketing Roisin Joan, who is now married to an investment
Association Week at the Plaza Hotel where Virgie was banker in Singapore and two sons, Jason Alexander and
working for a Swedish marketing firm. The dapper Gerard Aidan, who are now involved in the numerous
